A number of us used to follow H5N1 and the threat of a pandemic very closely.

What are your thoughts on the subject now?

Do you still follow it at all, and if so, how?

I think that there is no evidence thus far that this will be more than a sporadic phenomenon among people would work with chickens. For whatever reason H5N1 just does not have the keys to the house. There must be some structural defect in it. Indeed, at this point, I think it is more likely that some other strain, e.g. H3N2, H5N2, will be the next pandemic strain. It will happen eventually, but will not be H5N1.
