Ribbon Cable Summary

You’ve connected the floppy, hard drive, and CD-RW ribbon cables. Each cable can be pushed out of the way so that it doesn’t hit fans, the mainboard, etc. Figure 101 shows pushing cables into the empty 5.25” bay area. It’s good to have your cables out of the way of anything that gets especially hot, such as heatsinks. Some people will bundle their cables together to make the inside neater, but most builders just let all the cables hang out and have a good time.

Some builders argue that poor cable management can lead to improper airflow within the case.
