Care of Specific Components

This section takes a look at the various components that make up a PC system and discuss some specific care and maintenance issues related to them. I have a section for each of the main system components discussed in the Systems and Components Reference Guide. Each component has specific care steps that I recommend, along with some general guidelines as to how often they should be done. Many maintenance steps need doing only about once a year; for example, opening the PC annually to clean and check all the internal components at the same time is the most sensible way to care for these parts without the maintenance becoming an unreasonable chore.
