Motherboard Integrated Components

This section identifies the various components that you will find on your motherboard, and provides a brief description of each. There are pointers to the locations within this page where full details on each component can be found. Obviously, motherboards vary, and you may find more or fewer chips or devices on your board, depending on its age and level of integration. These are the most common items found on a typical modern motherboard. See this procedure for instructions on motherboard configuration; this one for directions on motherboard installation; and this one for instructions on connecting the motherboard to the system case.
