OK, I just formatted a few days ago and re-installed WIN2k Pro. Installed SP4 and all other updates, installed Virusscan Enterprise 7.0 and updated engine and .dat files. Installed Adaware and updated. Installed Spybot 1.3 and updated.

Yesterday every thing worked fine. This evening I re-booted the PC and now Virusscan does not load at startup. I can start it manually, update, scan, but it will not run in the back ground.

I booted then to safe mode, ran SB, Adaware, and Virusscan and all came up clean. Went to www nai.com and tried searching for possible problems, nothing was found.

Here is my HJT log....please take a look.

Your log looks clean, it may simply be a problem with McAfee... the only other option if you have reason to believe you picked up something nasty is that you have a trojan... you could download and run TrojanHunter trial and scan...

Unistall V.E. 7.0 and reinstall it again, and this time shut down for two full minutes after installation. Even if it doesn't indicate, shut it down for two full minutes.
