First...sorry this is long but I'm having trouble again.
OK here goes...I currently am trying to put 2 wireless computers onto our network that is not wireless. I got it working to a point. I could ping from the wireless computers to other computers on the network that aren't wireless, but could not ping the computers hardwired from the network to the 2 wireless computers. I can't synchronize maintenance things onto the wireless like the other machines do. How can I fix it?
Here is what I have: I have a Hawking HWR54G wireless router/switch that has the ethernet cable/internet cable attached. I then have a cable running from the switch port on the back of the router to a Hawking HWBA54G Access point and workgroup bridge. From there I have a signal booster attached to it. The router and the Access point/bridge are about 40 feet apart. The 2 computers I have wireless cards in can now get internet access and access the LAN. The router is acting as a default gateway for the wireless computers. I have tried changing the IP of the router...the wireless doesn't see the LAN or the internet even after making sure the computers are configured correctly. For some reason this works but some say I should use a wireless hub or a wireless switch because the router isn't really doing anything. Another thing...the access point/bridge has not been configured since everything else worked and the 2 wireless could get on the net and the network. any help would be appreciated. I'm learning but obviously not fast enough.
