A friend asked me to look at her Dell Dimension 1501 laptop with Vista Home edition because she said it was sluggish. I deleted LimeWire, something called Digital Line Detect, cleaned out temp files and defragmented. I see a noticable difference, but I don't know if there are still issues. Also, I don't see any antivirus on this laptop. There is McAfee OAS (which I guess means On-Access Scan...whatever that is) but I don't see McAfee Antivirus anywhere or I would run a complete virus scan. I have only used AVG for years, and I'm not familiar with any other antivirus software. Here's the log:

How to run a scan with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here (http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe) or Here (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html)

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts.
Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process.
If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.[/QUOTE]

Second:

Please do the following:

Download this file - combofix.exe (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) to your Desktop (it needs to be run from the Desktop). Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a log for you.

Note:

Do not mouseclick Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause the program to stall...

Third:

Re-boot the system
Post the Combofix Log
Post the MBAM log
Post a new HJT log
Tell us how the system is running.

I don't see spyware on your system. The next question would be how much RAM is on the system. If it does not have 2 GB of RAM it will run poorly with Vista.
