Help! Critical Threats on Trend Micro found!

Hello I did a full system scan on my computer, which just had a rootkit virus i am guessing, which I had to recover my computer for (without using recovery disks). Now on the scan which i did with trend micro 2010 (with all updates). It said i had vunerability some critical some low, mostly critical. One says MS08-71 Could allow remote execution of 956802. This says vunerability. Does that mean I have a virus only one other on says Blended threat vunerability. Do I have a virus please tell me I am scared that another virus or my recovery didnt work properly or that i got rootkit virus again can someone please help me!!! And will installing and downloading Microsoft security updates help!!!!!!!

What version of Windows?

Yes, you need to install all the updates for your version of Windows (minimally security one)...I'm not sure exactly how Trend is doing it these days, but it used to be pretty specific when you were infected. So, after the updates, try again.
