For our top pick, we went with the RTX 4070 Super. While the F1 24 system requirements say that an RTX 3070 would also be fine, it costs slightly less or even more than the RTX 4070 Super, depending on which variant you’re looking at. To gauge its performance, we took Assassin’s Creed Mirage as the first test, and it delivered 150, 119, and 74 FPS at 1080p, 1440p, and 4K, respectively. After that, we moved to The Finals, a competitive shooter where FPS matters a lot, and it managed 241, 124, and 61 FPS with Ray Tracing enabled in the same resolutions.
Its impressive performance is courtesy of its 7168 CUDA cores, a base clock of 1.98 GHz, and a boost clock of 2.48 GHz. However, our test unit, the ASUS TUF OC edition, came with overclocked settings. It had a default boost clock of 2565 MHz, which could be increased to 2595 MHz using the OC mode.
What this means is that while it has more Ray Tracing and CUDA cores than the base model, the higher frequencies should be able to push the cores further to work even harder and deliver better results. That said, higher frequencies mean that the GPU will consume more power and generate more heat. Now, we’ll shift over to Team Red for our mid-range pick, and there is no card better than the RX 7800 XT. At the time of writing, it costs a relatively affordable $511.78. In our RX 7800 XT review, it has top-notch performance at 1440p and even managed to push 4K in some titles.
In F1 23, this card delivered 107, 74, and 39 FPS at 1080p, 1440p, and 4K, respectively. While the FPS in the first two resolutions is playable, at 4K, we can see why this is a mid-range card, but these results are native, and you have the option to use FSR to boost the framerates into a playable range. So, AI upscaling came in clutch and should enable this GPU to push through the hardware limitations.
However, Assassin’s Creed Mirage churned out 68 FPS, and Doom Eternal had an impressive 95 FPS with Ray Tracing enabled at 4K. So, it depends on how optimized the title is, but you should be able to power 4K gaming with this GPU in most titles.
Since its launch, the RX 7800 XT has been an incredibly aggressively priced and powerful video card with strong ray tracing prowess compared to the previous generation RX 6800 XT.

This is in line with what it brings to the table, but the RTX 4080 Super has a TDP of 246W, and its performance is better than this card’s. So, it could’ve certainly used better power efficiency, but we can’t deny its performance. To counter the heat generated by its high power draw, we recommend using the best airflow PC case to ensure it runs cool.
Regarding its size, it is 10.5” in length, 4.4” in width, and 2” in height (266mm x 111mm x 50mm). This gives it a moderate size, which should be able to fit inside a mid-tower case easily, but just ensure you’ve got the best PC case fans to promote adequate airflow.

For people operating on a budget, we recommend giving the RX 7600 XT a shot. In our RX 7600 XT review, it performed excellently at 1080p and 1440p, but in some titles, it did struggle to push 1440p. We need to remember that this is an entry-level card that costs $321.31 at the time of writing.
In Assassin’s Creed Mirage, it delivered 91 and 67 FPS at 1080p and 1440p. However, in more demanding titles like Cyberpunk 2077, the numbers dropped to 86 and 53, respectively, and enabling Ray Tracing saw a crash in the FPS with 24 FPS in 1080p and 14 FPS in 1440p.
On the other hand, Doom Eternal churned out 221 and 158 FPS at 1080p and 1440p, meaning titles that are optimized will run better, and that isn’t surprising. As for F1 24, you should be able to play it at 1080p high presets but might have to tweak some settings down to achieve favorable framerates.
