Latest Windows 11 update fixes visual distortion bug in Chrome and Microsoft Edge

Microsoft releases new updates for Windows 11 from time to time to fix various issues. Windows 11 has had its fair share of problems, but the company has been quick to address most of them. Recently, there was a bug causing visual distortions in Chrome and Microsoft Edge. If you’ve been facing this problem, you’ll be glad to know that Microsoft has finally released a fix for it through the latest update.

Windows 11 visual distortion issue has been fixed

As reported by Windows Latest, the latest Windows 11 cumulative update, KB5039212, released on June 11, introduced various bug fixes and improvements to both the 23H2 and 22H2 versions. However, the official support document for this update mentions that it also includes improvements from the KB5037853 update, released in late May. One of the improvements include improving the experience of Windows 11 users who were facing visual distortion issues in Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

The support document states, “This update addresses an issue that distorts parts of the screen. This occurs when you use a Chromium-based browser to play a video.” If you were previously experiencing visual distortion issues, you no longer need to worry about them. In fact, the team at Windows Latest tested the fix and confirmed that the latest update has indeed resolved this problem.

On the other hand, while this update has fixed the visual distortion bug and has introduced a bunch of other improvements, it has caused some issues for Windows 11 Pro users. This is because after installing the KB5039212 update, Windows users have been unable to upgrade from Windows 11 Pro to Enterprise. Microsoft has claimed that they are aware of the issue and are working on a fix for it, but have not confirmed when the fix will be available.
